Katy Moss - Managing Director

Katy began managing the business after her late father and founder (Robert Crossland) of Trent passed away in 2011. The importance of maintaining the family business that Bob had worked most of his years in building is what motivates her. Having a background in business management, finance and customer relationships Katy believes that Service and Quality should be of the highest standard in everything we do and continues to strive for this. Katy said "My aim is to continue to build upon the firm foundations of this business; to make our company one that people want to buy from because of our values and ethics whilst also delivering best value for our customers". John Oakley - Product Development Manager & Director

John Oakley - Product Development Manager & Director

Our longest serving, a dedicated founder member of the team having started the company with Bob Crossland back in 1989. John has years of experience behind him in the Steel and Refractory industry. He has intrinsic knowledge of our products, processes and applications and if you have a problem, chances are john has seen it before and can add something to the process. John said "The history of this company is really important, it’s a long standing family company and it drives our reputation.

Michael Carr - QHSE & Process Manager

Michael Carr - QHSE & Process Manager

Michael brings with him over 28 years of Manufacturing experience found working within large organisations. He will be continuously looking to transfer the skills and techniques learned from manufacturing industry into Trent Refractories, optimising resources across all aspects of the company. The key principles include communication, 5S & lean manufacturing, organisation experience and problem solving skills to help us all flourish to our full potential.

Stan Franey - Commercial Manager

Stan Franey - Commercial Manager

Stan has joined us as Commercial Manager, having spent almost 40 years in the Industrial and Refractory Minerals Business, Stan brings a wealth of industry knowledge and commercial experience at a senior level. Stan said "I am delighted to join the team at Trent. I am a strong believer in the ‘Customer is King’ approach to business. What attracted me to Trent was its commitment on providing great products and exceptional customer service. Something a lot of companies have completely lost sight of. There is a strong focus on innovation and growing the company. Trent conducts all its business in an open and honest way".

Tony Clarkson - Technical Sales Manager

Tony Clarkson - Technical Sales Manager

Tony started out in a laboratory and worked his way up the ranks all the way to Company Director and Owner of another Refractory company. His knowledge covers every aspect of the company. His arrival has given a fresh perspective and he has supported the business in improvements that have been made. He understands the pressures and issues customers face and works with them to engineer solutions. Always putting our customers first he is an asset to our team. Tony said "I am really enjoying working in the refractory industry. Trent has an excellent history behind it and I love helping to ensure it's continued success. We are very customer focused & strive to exceed expectations".

Stephanie Atkinson-Skinn - Accounts Administrator

Stephanie Atkinson-Skinn - Accounts Administrator

Stephanie joined us in 2014 and has been instrumental in making changes in the office to improve and make efficiencies. She takes care of the financial administration side of the business together with shipping. Previously having worked for a large multi-national company with a strong focus on customer satisfaction and product quality in a managerial role, Stephanie wanted a change of career path and is now studying her AAT level 4. Stephanie said "4 words about Trent; reputation, integrity, ethical, bespoke".

Rebecca Kennedy - Sales Co-ordinator

Rebecca Kennedy - Sales Co-ordinator

Rebecca’s role is to manage and engage with all existing and new customers by building strong, honest relationships to improve our business moving forward. Previously having worked as a Senior Manager in Banking and Finance assisting personal and commercial customers for 26 years and then in the Construction industry, the Refractory and Manufacturing industry is something relatively new for her and she enjoys applying her skills here. Rebecca said "Having worked with Katy in the past I trust her work and business ethos. I know that she is always fully committed to doing her upmost for both clients and staff".

Scott Denholm – Production Manager

Scott Denholm – Production Manager

Having managed a large mineral processing plant for many years, Scott has a can-do attitude and is committed to his new role at Trent. His experience will enable us to balance the workload in order to grow. Scott gets stuck in and loves a challenge. Scott is looking forward to “continuing to build the teamwork ethic within the business so we can all exceed our customers expectations”.

Caroline England - Office Administrator

Caroline England - Office Administrator

Caroline joins us with 20 years’ experience, a conscientious work ethic and traditional values. She originally worked for her father for a small local business, this is what sparked her interests in accounts and administration along with a strong focus on customer service and loyalties. She believes working within a good team with likeminded people is an important aspect of her job. Caroline said "Caroline says “Success is about hard work, smart thinking and a team that is passionate".

Some of our operatives have worked for the company since it began, this brings with it a great amount of practical experience and it is a culture of ‘doing’ and ‘getting stuck in’ which has made us who we are. We are a Living Wage employer, the vast majority of our staff are paid more than the Living Wage.
