Trent Refractories Attend The IRE Silver Linings Conference

Trent Refractories has been in attendance at the Institute of Refractory Engineers Silver Linings Conference being held at the Tankersley Manor conference centre near Barnsley in the UK. This is the tenth annual training conference day organised by the IRE, this year will focus on the design of monolithic linings.
The conference is aimed at people who work with monolithic refractories but need to enhance their knowledge of lining design. The conference also aims to provide an introduction into issues concerning the engineering design of a monolithic lining including, Designing and selection of anchors, anchor installation and spacing, fibre reinforcement, design around nozzles, flanges and connections, formwork and vibration, thermal expansion, dry out and warm up.

For more than fifty years the Institute of Refractories Engineers has served as a forum for professionals in the refractories, raw materials, manufacturing, installation and user industries. Based in the UK, the Institute of Refractories Engineers (I.R.E.) is the only organisation specifically dedicated to fostering the science, technology and skills of refractories engineering and to serving the needs of refractories engineers worldwide.
